José Escalante, General Manager of DORI MEDIA GROUP and CEO of DORIMEDIA AMERICA.

TV3
is Catalonia’s Public Television. They broadcast in Catalan. It belongs to a corporation that owns a general-interest TV station, a second channel and other various TV stations on DTT (Digital Terrestrial Television): a 24-information TV station, a fiction channel and several radio stations and companies related to the communications world. TV3 is a highly competitive channel, the second most watched network in Catalonia and one of the most important in Spain.
Their choice over fiction is mainly a business one in face of the present market situation. They are not only broadcasters, but also producers, making them different from almost every other channel, not just in Catalonia but in the whole of Spain. “We started with drama series and we’re successful. When reality shows appeared, we didn’t go for them because we knew our viewers expected a lot more from us. And this is when we reinforce our drama program range,” explains Jordi Roure in his excellent presentation. (See presentation). Both production and programming schemes allowed them to keep with profitable slots airing their telenovelas and series. José Escalante, General Manager of DORIMEDIA GROUP and CEO of DORIMEDIA AMERICA, as chairman of the Summit for three years now, was in charge of the opening. “During the event we’ll carry out a profound and detailed analysis, and we’ll examine telenovelas and fiction series in depth. These products have reached non-traditional countries with formats that sold to France, Germany, Belgium, Italy and the Unites States. And canned products have entered India and the Scandinavian countries. A person who has definitely contributed to the telenovela on a worldwide scale, and who performs brilliantly as a producer, a writer and a reporter with initiative, bravery and affection for the product is Amanda Ospina. She has managed to gather all of us under the same roof as she does every year. There are not many people like Amanda, so I would like to seize the opportunity to thank her and her commitment to us, to the genre and to the industry. Also praise her for her  professionalism and dedication to the product, and of course thank all of you for being here. You are the ones that make it possible for us to exchange these experiences. Thank you.”

"We're intensively taking part in the summit for the second time because we prioritize fiction and we’re proud of our fiction.” – Frances Escribano, General Manager.

“TV3 actively participates in events like this because we’re sure about the importance of brand and product
visibility in the competitive audiovisual market.” – Víctor Carrera, Marketing Director.

“We in TV3 have never hidden the fact that we make telenovelas, as well as also openly show that we’re bold
and we create hybrids that turn out quite novel and successful.” – Jourdi Roure, Executive Producer and
responsible for the Drama Area.
